UAE firm explores for gold in Yemen

Thani Dubai has dug over 80 wells in 15 sites in Madan Valley

Sana'a: Thani Dubai Mining Company, a UAE firm, actively continues its exploration for gold mines in Hadramout and Hajjah provinces in Yemen.
The company has dug over 80 wells in 15 sites in Madan Valley and collected over 8,718 rock samples from mineralised zones and their environment, and the preparation for the preliminary assessment of the ore, reported Yemen News Agency (SABA) quoting Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Board (GSMRB) of Yemen.

A report issued by GSMRB pointed out that the company carried out drilling of 15 sites in Notisha area and gathered about 7,952 samples from the mineralised zones.
The report indicated that the company has started explorations in Al Maslama area, where it found a number of mineralised zones.

The company made limited exploration activities in the Shars Valley such as interpretation of satellite images, and preparation of a detailed geological, mineral, and synthetic map for Al Harirah area.
